What is Patient Safety?

An essential part of providing quality health care is ensuring the safety of patients and protecting them from injuries, errors and infections.

The goal of Patient Safety is to create a system that reduces harm and reduces preventable mortality. When Patient Safety is prioritized and practiced, communities have confidence that their health systems can care for them, there is improved efficiency when delivering health care and costs related to patient harm are reduced.

From diagnostic errors to unsafe injections practices and medication errors, CICAPS is committed to increasing Patient Safety across Nigeria and Africa.
